As part of the Media Literacy Days 2023, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services will hold a workshop for its employees, titled “From Broadcasting to the Internet – The Path to Modern Media Regulation.”
The workshop will be held by Dr. Maike Isenberg from the North Rhine-Westphalia’s media regulatory authority, who will share knowledge and experiences in this domain, acquired from the process that they have completed already
Among other things, the workshop will also tackle the basic values of media regulation in the digital world (e.g. neutrality of the state, minors’ and users’ protection, human dignity, media pluralism), reviewing the way of thinking as regulators: dealing with hate speech and disinformation in the digital sphere, questions regarding registration (for on-demand services – legal entities and influencers) and licensing (for linear services), obligations for the on-demand and linear services, etc.
