EUROMETAR’s latest survey shows that more than half of the citizens obtain information on political topics most often using the Internet. Of these, the largest part, i.e. above 90 per cent, do it via the social networks, which are, at the same time, the most fertile ground for disinformation. Taking into account that next year is planned to be an election year, as well as the fact that the candidates and the political parties can most easily reach their potential voters precisely through these channels, forming the voice of the citizens in these conditions poses a genuine challenge.
According to communicologist Sead Jigal, the fact that people inform themselves on the political news mostly from the social networks is the result of the digital generations.
