As part of Media Literacy Days, on 3 November, the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) held the event “Young People, Disinformation Campaigns and SMMI.”
The event took place at the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, in the Boris Trajkovski Hall, where students from seven schools in Skopje, Prilep, Valandovo, Veles and Lipkovo engaged in discussions with Members of Parliament about the disinformation they encounter, the information they follow, and the influencers who shape their opinions.
Does school prepare them for these challenges? What are they missing, and what would they change? Their experiences and suggestions were at the heart of the debate “What Do You Watch, Whom Do You Trust? – Young People, Information and Disinformation Campaigns.”
The event was organised by ICS in cooperation with the Parliamentary Institute and the Club for Youth Issues and Policies, as part of the “COMPASS” project, funded by the Government of the United Kingdom, with the support of the British Embassy Skopje.
