A Handbook for Spotting Disinformation was prepared under the Twinning Project on “Enhancement of Capacities of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services and the Public Broadcasting Service”, in cooperation with Thomas Rathgeb, Head of the Department of Media Literacy, Programme and Research at the State Institute for Communications in Baden-Württemberg, Federal Republic of Germany,
The Handbook offers, among other things, answers on how we can check whether/to what extent a piece of news/information, photo or video is true; how the basic journalistic questions – Who?; When?; Where?; What?; How?; Why?, (which, in fact, comprise the recipe for writing a news story), can be used to detect harmful information, and what the techniques for creating disinformation are.
The Handbook is in the form of a publication and is available in Macedonian, Albanian and English.
