This year again, the UKLO FM – Bitola University Radio (a radio station of the St. Clement of Ohrid University in Bitola), prepared a special edition of its radio show for children and young people, called “Hear us Out! with Noella”, dedicated to media literacy.
This time, in the 49th episode of the show, the host Noela Nechkoska, an eighth-grader in the “Elpida Karamandi” Elementary School in Bitola, did some research and spoke on the topic “Put Every News to the test!”
Namely, the Faculty of Pedagogy in Bitola, a unit of UKLO, had issued the first Media Literacy Handbook titled “Put Every News to the Test!”, with the support of USAID, ICS and IREX. The Handbook had been prepared by UKLO staff and students as part of the “YouThink” media literacy project. This special edition of “Hear Us Out! with Noela” elaborated on and used references from the above Handbook. It reflected the youth’s approach and perception, supported by academic quality, both in the realistic context of today’s living on the Internet and in the world as a global village.
