Skopje, 26 October 2026 – A workshop dedicated to the challenges young people face in relation to artificial intelligence was held today, organised by the Macedonian Institute for Media.
The event was attended by students from the “Kocho Racin” and “Josip Broz Tito” secondary schools in Skopje, as well as the “Goce Delchev” Secondary School in Kumanovo. Through discussions and interactive activities, the students had the opportunity to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on everyday life, the media, and the ways in which they receive and interpret information.
Particular emphasis was placed on identifying content generated using artificial intelligence, as well as on the challenges posed by disinformation, manipulated photographs and videos, and the increasing difficulty of distinguishing authentic content from fabricated material in the digital space.
Through practical examples and discussion, the students had the opportunity to reflect on how artificial intelligence tools work, their capabilities and limitations, and why it is important to approach information encountered online and on social media critically.
The workshop highlighted the importance of media and digital literacy, particularly at a time when the development of new technologies is changing the ways information is created, shared and consumed. Participants also discussed the responsible use of artificial intelligence, the need to verify sources, and the importance of human judgement in decision-making.
