The team of the project “With a critical opinion to citizens with media skills – CriTink” in synergy with other Metamorphosis projects – the fact-checking service Vistinomer.mk, the regional initiative to fight cross-border disinformation in the Balkans led by the Meta.mk News Agency and the news agency portal in the Albanian language Portalb.mk, focused their efforts on promoting critical opinion and media literacy by exposing the influx of disinformation and media manipulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as making verified information on health topics more accessible to citizens from official sources and WHO. Truthometer is a certified member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and is directly involved in its efforts to address this issue globally.
In order to provide the citizens of North Macedonia with easy access to all the content about the disinformation and manipulations about the coronavirus, Metamorfosis established a personal page in Macedonian (https://crithink.mk/dezinformaczii-i-manipulaczii-za-noviot-korona-virus- kovid-19/) and in Albanian language (https://crithink.mk/sq/pasqyre-e-dezinformatave-dhe-manipulimeve-per-koronavirusin-e-ri-kovid-19/) as a public source that is constantly updated with links to new information and educational content. CriTink is implemented by the Metamorphosis Foundation and Eurotink with financial support from the European Union, and Vistanomer and regional efforts to combat disinformation are supported by the National Endowment for Democracy.
