The Metamorphosis Foundation and Eurotink – a center for European strategies are addressing interested local civil society organizations and media with an invitation to participate in information sessions regarding the Small Grants Program within the project “Critical opinion to citizens with media skills – CriTink”. The Small Grants Competition is the second of two cycles of the Small Grants Program and was announced on May 31st and will be open until July 15th, 2019. Within the second cycle, it is planned to award 10 grants that will support projects from the 8 planning regions in Macedonia. Individual grants in the amount of between 6,000 and 7,000 euros will be awarded.

The main goal of the project is to promote media literacy as a basis for preserving the right of citizens to have different opinions, by stimulating a culture of critical opinion, pluralism of opinions and democratic values.
The specific objectives of the project are:
To encourage a culture of critical thinking by educating the general public about the harmful effects of media manipulations on democracy and European values.
To increase the capacities of civil society organizations and the media to deal with media manipulations (including hate speech) by improving media literacy in cooperation with state institutions.
To increase the demand from citizens for greater accountability and responsibility of the media through public non-formal education, promotion of professional standards and international practices for the protection of freedom of opinion and expression
