Faculty of Philology “Blaze Koneski” – Skopje, Institute for Communication Studies IKS and Media Literacy Project YouThink, announce the panel discussion “Media Literacy and Students”, which will be held on 27.10.2022 (Thursday), at 12:30 p.m. in Amphitheater 3 of the Faculty of Philology.The event is open to the media.
In the two-hour panel discussion, Prof. Dr. Maja Bojadzievska, vice dean for science and international cooperation. Assoc. will also give a short address. Dr. Christina N. Nikolovska, head of the project “Introduction of future philologists in the field of media literacy”, who will present the project activities that take place at the faculty within the five-year program “Young people think”.
Various aspects related to media literacy, higher education and marginalized communities will be discussed by:
– Blake Smith, professor from the University of Chicago;
– Gordana Alexova, associate professor at the Department of Macedonian Language;
– Branislav Gerazov, associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT);
– Bojan Shashevski, journalist from Radio MOF, who reports on culture, diversity and educational challenges;
– Victoria Volak, sign language interpreter;
– Saranda Mehmedi, student, poet, singer and activist for the rights of non-refugees;
– Kristijan Lazarov, student and activist for the rights of the visually impaired.
