The Higher School of Journalism and Public Relations, in partnership with the Institute for Diversity from London and the daily newspaper “Nova Macedonia”, awarded the prizes for the best high school media products received at the competition “Express yourself through the media” on the topic “I would like to my municipality yes…”
The first prize was won by a group of students from Secondary School “Mitko Pendzukliski” Kratovo, the second prize went to Stefan Mitic from the high school “Orce Nikolov” from Skopje, while the third prize went to Berat Ahmetaj from ETUC “Mihajlo Pupin” from Skopje. 10 more creative media products were selected, whose authors will participate in the media literacy summer camp that the School of Journalism and Public Relations will organize in June in Shtip.
The idea of the competition was to encourage media literacy among young people, who will show in a creative way that they know how to use the media to cause change in the environment in which they live.
About 50 students from all over Macedonia applied for the competition. The competition is part of the project “Media Literacy in the Age of Information Surge: Coalition for Media and Information Literacy”, supported by the European Union.
