
The Network was created back in 2017 by 35 founding members. In the meantime, its membership has nearly doubled. For more information about the promotion of the Network, please visit the following link.
Ever since the beginning, the Network’s organization has been following the principle of horizontal structure, where all members are equal and have the same rights and obligations, with the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Services taking care of its administration.
On 25 March 2021, the Media Literacy Network became part of EMIL – EPRA’s Media Information and Literacy Taskforce (EPRA – European Platform of Regulatory Authorities), formerly known as EPRA MIL work group. The structure of the Taskforce was formalized along with the name change.
EMIL aims to organize ad hoc meetings on topics relating to this work group, specifically focusing on the development of media and information literacy networks.
In 2019, in order to improve the functioning of the Network while still maintaining the horizontal structure, the members formed, through a debate, three working groups, and elected a Coordinating Group and a Coordinator.
