Skopje, 25 October 2022 – This year’s Media Literacy Days shall be held starting today until 1 November 2022, under the motto “Think Critically, Gather the Whole Story,”. The event is being organized by the Media Literacy Network. In this way, our country is joining in the UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week, for the fourth year in a row.
As Agency Director Zoran Trajchevski informed, according to the event’s programme, during these days the public will have the opportunity to attend a series of workshops, debates, video and panel discussions, presentations, and exhibitions focused on different aspects of media literacy.
This year, the Media Literacy Days include, for the first time, a film programme, divided into two parts. One part of the programme is intended for people with disabilities, who, by pre-booking tickets, will be able to watch movies from the regular repertoire of the Millennium and Cineplexx movie theatres and the RNM Cinematheque, free of charge. The second part of the programme includes free screenings of thematic films intended for primary-school 6th to 9th graders at the Millennium, Cineplexx movie theatres and the RNM Cinematheque, provided by the Cutaway distribution company.
For the purposes of the Media Literacy Days, a video clip in Macedonian and Albanian, an audio clip in Macedonian and Albanian, and an audio and video clip in English have been produced. The videos are already being aired by the media with the aim of informing an as large a number of citizens as possible about the media literacy events.
